Betty J. Brannon

Betty J. Brannon, a resident of Abbeville, died early Monday morning, March 18, 2013, in the Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Facility. She was 72.
Private memorial services will be announced at a later date. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Abbeville Memorial Library, "In Memory Betty J. Brannon," 301 Kirkland Street, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Mrs. Brannon was a native of Manchester, Georgia, daughter of the late, Ralph Jefferson Johnson and Bera Mae Bell Morris Johnson. She lived in the Thomas Mill Creek area of Henry County for the past twenty years. Mrs. Brannon was a graduate of the Wallace Community College Nursing Program. She was retired due to disability as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Central Alabama Home Health Care. In earlier years, Mrs. Brannon was formerly employed by Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Medical Center Barbour, and Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Brannon, a daughter, Deborah Lynn (Debbie) Stafford, two brothers, Fred Mack Johnson, William D. Johnson, and a sister, Gladys Williamson.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Timothy Wayne Buffington, Homasassa Springs, FL; Stanley Brannon and fianc, Lenna Register, Headland; son-in-law, Timothy Dean Stafford, Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Viola Davis Johnson, Manchester, GA; a brother, Cecil Johnson, Abbeville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
