Updated: March 13, 2013

DOTHAN - Dothan Pediatric Clinic has received recognition as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).  Medical practices achieving this recognition are identified for delivering superior care using standards firmly rooted in medical evidence.  Dothan Pediatric Clinic was the first practice of any specialty in the state to receive patient-centered medical home recognition.  Level 3 Medical Home is the highest certification level recognized by the NCQA and clearly demonstrates that systems and processes are in place to meet nationally recognized standards for delivering high-quality care

The patient-centered medical home (PCMH) is an approach to providing comprehensive health care.  The PCMH facilitate teamwork between patients, their personal physician, their health care team, and when appropriate, the patient's family.

The NCQA, dedicated to improving health-care quality, released voluntary standards for Physician Practice Connections - Patient-Centered Medical Home.  These standards reflect input from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and several other primary care specialty societies.

The mission of AAP is to attain optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.   Dothan Pediatric Clinic has been caring for infants, children and adolescents since 1953.
