Willie Beauford (Bo) Sanders

Willie Beauford (Bo) Sanders, a resident of the Southern Junction Community of Houston County, died early Sunday morning, March 3, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 79.

            Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M Monday, March 4, 2013, in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Newton officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 835, Slocomb, AL 36375.

            Mr. Sanders was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, son of the late Willie Martin Sanders and Audrey Mae Roney Sanders. He was a 1951 graduate of Headland High School and received a certificate in refrigeration from Wallace Technical College. Mr. Sanders served his country in the Army National Guard in the Headland unit. He formerly lived in Long Beach, California and Tampa, Florida before moving to Southern Junction in 1982. Mr. Sanders was an active member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where he was an avid guitarist and sang in church choir. He retired as the owner and operator of Bo Sanders Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service in Tampa. After moving to Alabama, he specialized in growing and sales of peaches, blackberries and blueberries.  Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by two sisters, Mavis Johnson and Doris Finley,  a brother, Winford Sanders and a step-son-in-law, Charles Law.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Jeania D. Sanders, Southern Junction; a daughter, Donna Jo Ethridge and husband, Neil, Dothan; a step-daughter, Laurie Law, Ashford; a step-son, David Garth Patterson, Tampa, FL; a sister, Martha Faison and husband, Alfred, Kinsey;  a brother, Ronnie Sanders and wife, Cheryl, Dothan; two grandchildren, Kendall Ethridge Sanders (Jason), and Ben Ethridge; a step-grandson, Keith David Halle; three great-grandchildren, Jessi Sanders, Eli Sanders and Lena Sanders; two step-great-grandchildren.
