Sallie Virginia Hughes Arnold, 85, of Dothan, Alabama, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of the daughter.
Sallie was born a daughter of the late Lucious and Addie Barnes Hughes. She worked as a machine operator for approximately twenty years with Sunnyland Packing Company of Dothan prior to her retirement in 1991. She was a member of Webb Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Winford Arnold; four brothers and three sisters; and her loving husband Morris Arnold.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary (Wyatt) Shiver, Dothan; a son and daughter-in-law Luke Jerome (Colleen) Arnold, Cottonwood; a daughter-in-law Debra Arnold, Dothan; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
