Otho L. Godwin

Mr. Otho L. Godwin of Geneva passed away on February 23, 2013 after a long illness. He was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in Geneva with Rev. Nathan Caroll and Rev. Tony Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Godwin was born on September 1, 1928 to the late Almon Nance and Boncile Belcher Godwin. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Godwin owned and operated Godwin Insurance Agency in Geneva for many years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Zylphialette Godwin and brother, McArthur Godwin.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Julia Faye Godwin; daughter, Julie Godwin, both of Geneva; son, Kevin Godwin (Rendy); granddaughter, Ava Rose Godwin, all of Donalsonville, GA; five sisters, Faye Daffin (Carl) of Tallahassee, FL, Frankie Molnar of Eufaula, Jimmie Ard of Tallahassee, FL, Shirah Bryson of Dothan and Ginger Helton (Fred) of Daleville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hartford Healthcare.
