Wendell Givens

Wendell Givens, 72, of Midland City died February 21, 2013 at his residence.
The family will receive friends at Sunset Funeral Home Friday, February 22, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm.
Mr. Givens was born June 22, 1940 in Hartford, Alabama and he resided the early years of his life in Bonifay, Florida before moving to Dothan in 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served a tour in Germany. Mr. Givens resided in the Midland City area for the past 25 years and was employed with Flavor House and Rock-Tenn for several years prior to his retirement in 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Givens; his sons, Ronnie Givens, Michael (Donna) Givens, Scott Givens and Jeffrey (Tara) Scarbrough; his daughter, Susan Lassiter; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Al (Corine) Givens, Drew Givens, David Givens, Jr., Johnny (Joan) Givens; his sisters, Marjorie (Burl) Waller and Lou (Bill) Ward; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny (Patsy) Brown, Vanessa (Bobby) Davis, Terry Brown; mother-in-law, Virginia Brown; several nieces and nephews.
