AHSAA South Regional Day 2

Day two of the south regional basketball tournament is underway at the Dothan Civic Center.

Blount 76, Robertsdale 27: Blount wasted not time of disposing of the Robertsdale in the opening game of day two at AHSAA South Regional at the Dothan Civic Center.

Cierra Johnson has 21 points to lead all scorers. Whytney Singleton added 16.

Maddie Petit had 12 for Robertsdale.


McGill Toolen 59, Northview 54: Northview led most of the way only to come up short in the end as they fell to McGill Toolen 59-54.

Leading the Cougars was Marquez White with 26 points. Maurice Pittman added 11 points and Jalen Harris added eight.

McGill-Toolen was led by Jason Smith who had 18 points and Dylan Smith and Philbert Martial with 11 points each.

Murphy 63, Baldwin County 22: In the battle of southwest Alabama schools, Murphy came away with a big win.

Leading the way for Murphy was Hope Moore with 15 points, Devan Cleveland and Vamikka Smith with 12 points and Charity Moore with 10.

Baldwin County was led by Denosha Maye with eight points.

Blount 70, Baldwin County 42: Blount raced out front early and ran away with the game.

Demetrius Caldwell led Blount with 21 points.  Divine Myles added 11 in the win. John Arnold put in nine points.

Baldwin County was led by Justin Mayes and Ewing Mayberry with eight points each. Xavier Dortch, Andrew Cox and Kirk Johnson all had six points.
