Alexea Michaela Morgan passed away Wednesday night after a tragic tree climbing accident. Alexea was a fifth grader at Mulkey Elementary, where she was on the honor roll and competed in the talent show. Teachers said she was a friend to all and had a contagious spirit. Principal Jami Seay said she was a student who was always willing to help and would do anything for anyone. "She would always care for a special needs student that rode her bus; she was just such a nurturer," continued Seay.

Counselors were on hand Thursday to help students cope with the loss of their friend and classmate. Students also wrote letters for Alexea's family to help them reflect on their memories of her. She will be greatly missed, but students are reflecting on all the good she brought to their lives.

Alexea's legacy will continue on as her family was able to donate her organs and possibly save the lives of six other children.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
