Dorothy Ann Westmoreland of Enterprise, AL passed away, Monday, January 28, 2013 in Enterprise. She was 79.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to an animal shelter of choice.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Kent Westmoreland, her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Dorothy was born and raised in Banks County, GA before becoming a military wife, mother and business woman. She eventually settled in her beloved state of Oregon before returning to Alabama to spend her retirement years with her children.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jody W. Toothman (Ronald ) Enterprise, AL; daughter-in-law, Leigh Westmoreland; son, Charles G. Westmoreland; sister, Adele Gardner, Deltona, FL; granddaughter, Rachael L. Westmoreland, Atlanta, GA; two step-granddaughters, Renee` Dickinson, Mobile, AL; Melanie Allen, Ft. Knox, KY; numerous nieces and nephews; she is also survived by the father of her children, Ben Westmoreland and his wife Caroline.
A special thanks to her caregivers through the last years of her life at Enterprise Health and Rehab, especially the staff of hall 7.
