Mayor Boswell spoke to hundreds Thursday at the Enterprise Civic Center as he presented a list of goals for 2013 and highlighted achievements from 2012. He noted several major accomplishments for the city, including being selected number one "Micropolitan Area in Alabama" and being named one of the six "Most Patriotic Cities" in the nation.

Other highlights for Enterprise also included a new phone system as well as the completion of the Highway 84 resurfacing project. The Mayor said with all that was accomplished in 2012, he sees a bright future for 2013 and the theme for the year is jobs and economic development. He said through companies like, Enterprise Electronics he hopes to see at least 150 new jobs in Enterprise this year.

The mayor said he hopes to see his city benefit from Air-Bus locating in Mobile. He plans to make that happen by upgrading the Enterprise Airport. "We need to position ourselves so that we have a chance to enter into that workforce and develop those jobs. If you don't have the appropriate air strip for it, then naturally you aren't going to be a viable candidate," continued Mayor Boswell. If this project is completed in 2013 then the airport will be upgraded from a "Class B" to a "Class C" airport.
