Robert Cecil Stratton

Robert Cecil Stratton of Enterprise, Alabama passed away, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was 77.
Mr. Stratton retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of distinguished service. He then worked as an initial entry instructor pilot for 25 years at Ft Rucker.
He was a Vietnam veteran who served two tours. He was one of the original members of the U.S. Army Special Forces. In October of 1961 his group was the first to wear the Green Beret as their official head dress during a demonstration staged for President John F. Kennedy at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Mr. Stratton was a Master Aviator, a Master Parachutist, a master father, grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Jean Stratton, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Kelly Stratton Grisham (David) Elba, AL; sons Jeff Stratton (Dawn) Panama City, FL; Steve Stratton, San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren Ian Farley, Sheena Stratton, Kelsey Becar, and Bonny Beaty; two great-grandchildren and his 15 year old Chihuahua and walking buddy Max.
