Carolina Promotes Mike Shula

The Carolina Panthers have promoted Mike Shula from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator, according to a Charlotte Observer report.

The former Alabama starting quarterback and head coach takes over for Rob Chudzinksi, who became the Cleveland Browns' head coach last week.

Shula will now have even more responsibility with the development of former Auburn quarterback and Heisman trophy winner Cam Newton.
