Mr. Kenneth Hudson "Hut" Jones

            Mr. Kenneth Hudson "Hut" Jones of Geneva, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013.  He was 89.

            Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Minister Ken Lefler officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time.  Interment will be at Friendship Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall Building Fund, County Road 41, Hartford, AL 36344.

            Mr. Jones was born February 7, 1923, in Escambia County, Alabama to the late Stiner Hudson and Vera T. Auston Jones.  Prior to moving to Geneva the family lived in Melbourne, FL and Hut was affectionately known to his friends as "Sheep Head Jones".  He was a carpenter by trade and worked with the Harris Corporation for 14 years.   He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and sharing his vegetables with family and friends.  He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

            In addition to his parents, four siblings, Evelyn, Wilson, Bobby and Lowell, all preceded him in death.

            Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Annie Lizzie Shirah Jones, Geneva; four children: Ricky Alan Jones (April), Deland, FL, Rhonda Jean Jones, Geneva, Angela Cook (Bill), Palm Bay, FL, Stacie Kendra Hunt (Roger), Live Oak, FL; six sisters: Roberta Fain (Tom), Auguthee Helms (Jack), all of Geneva, Betty Sue Jackson, Crestview, FL, Janice Fulford (Moody), Dothan, and Pecoluar Laye, Chancellor; two brothers: Ned Jones (Glenda), Chancellor and Julius Jones (Arlene), Coffee Springs; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
