Col. (Ret) George H. Moore

         Col. (Ret) George H. Moore of Daleville, AL, age 96 passed away, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Enterprise. 

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 18, 2013 at Daleville Baptist Church with Rev. Jud Waldrop officiating.  Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Garden with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daleville Baptist Church, 100 Donnell Blvd., Daleville, AL  36322.

          Col. Moore retired from the U. S. Army in 1970 after serving 30 years.  He was a veteran of 3 wars, WWII, Korean Conflict and Viet Nam.  He served as Police Chief of Daleville, was member of Daleville Baptist Church and was a 32 degree Shriner.

          He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Becky Moore.

          Survivors include four sons, LT. Col. (Ret.) Frank L. Alverson (Mary) Jacksonville, FL; Jody Moore, Daleville, AL; Doug Moore (Dorothy) Phenix City, AL; Col. Don Moore (Michele) Manassas, VA; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
