Gary Edward Griffin of New Brockton, AL passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 66.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Sean Rezek and Rev. Sam Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7PM on Monday, January 14, 2013. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the building fund at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 2235 County Road 156, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell and Ruth Griffin; and a grandson, William Kenneth Griffin.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra K. (Griswold) Griffin, New Brockton, AL; three sons, Dennis Griffin (Michelle), Kenny Griffin (Nicki) and Brent Griffin all of New Brockton, AL; seven grandchildren; Preston, Grant, Corbin, Caleb, Ryan, Lauren and Autumn Griffin; brother, William "Chick" Griffin (Mary), Enterprise, AL; sister, Jean Smith, Dothan, AL; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Gentiva Hospice.
