Robin Roberts Headed Back To Good Morning America Sooner Than Expected

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: January 14, 2013

If you watched Good Morning America this morning, you heard it here on WDHN first. Robin Roberts will return to the GMA anchor desk sooner than expected, maybe within a few weeks to make a February debut. She made the announcement from her home.

Roberts wore a broad smile as she announced that her most recent bone marrow test showed no sign of the life-threatening ailment that has kept her off the air for months.  Roberts' sister donated bone marrow last year, after Roberts was diagnosed with the blood and bone marrow disease, MDS.

As you can imagine, the Good Morning America team is elated at the news.  Elizabeth Vargas, who has been filling in for Roberts, says it will be a great day there in Times Square.  The team thanked her for filling in.
