A man wanted for questioning in the robbery of convenience stores in Geneva and Esto continues to elude police.
An armed robbery call came in to Geneva County 911 at approximately 7:45 p.m. Monday night at the Inland Gas Station on Highway 52 East. Geneva police and Geneva County sheriff deputies quickly responded but the robber had already left the scene on a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500.
Police later learned that the vehicle had been stolen out of Covington County and have identified the suspect at Kenneth Wood, Jr.
Another armed robbery was reported at the Chevron gas station on Highway 2 in Esto, Florida a short time later. Holmes County deputies say the description given to them matches the description of Wood.
Law enforcement in both Holmes and Geneva counties continued to work their investigations into the night.
A Shell station near Perry, Florida was robbed just after 1:15 a.m. this morning. The person responsible for this robbery matched Wood's description as well.
A Taylor County deputy caught up with the vehicle on US 19, just north of Salem, Florida but the subject abandoned his truck.
Law enforcement began a foot search with K-9's but came up empty in their efforts.
Around 4 a.m. this morning, a residential burglary was reported near the search area and a Chevy Tahoe was stolen. The tahoe was spotted in Cross City, Florida by a Dixie County sheriff deputy.
Wood again fled on foot and officers were unable to locate him.
Another vehicle has been stolen by Wood according to law enforcement but there have been no new sightings at this time.
Police say that you should not approach Wood if you come in contact with him.
Wood is also a registered sex offender in Delaware.
Police are saying they believe there may be numerous robberies in several states by Wood.
