Ruth Delores Lay

Mrs. Ruth Delores Lay of Slocomb passed away Friday, January 4, 2012 at SAMC. She was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. and will continue until service time.
Mrs. Lay was born on November 2, 1938 in Tuscaloosa to the late Vernon and Arlon Chandler Lay. She was a member of Slocomb First Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents, one brother, Jake Lay preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two daughters: Robin Dunn (Rev. Randy) of Slocomb and Toni Trimm (Charles) of Northport; one son, Joey Frost (Lois Jean) of Parrish; two sisters: Gaynell Norwood and Judy Harris (Steve) both of Slocomb; one brother, James Billy Lay (Maxine) of Fayette; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
