Updated: January 3, 2013

A man was taken into custody Thursday morning after a standoff with police.  Officers responded to the Motel 6 about 6:00 in response to some type of domestic situation.  The man barricaded himself in a second floor room of the hotel, possibly holding a woman described as his girlfriend hostage.

Officers evacuated guests as hostage negotiators talked to the man barricaded in the room.  He was led away and placed in a patrol car about 8:30 am. The apparent hostage was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Snipers could be seen at the scene but its not believed they became directly involved in the apprehension of the man.

It's not immediately clear what charges will be filed in the case. The name of the person arrested has not been released.
