TROY, Ala. - Troy University senior running back Shawn Southward and senior offensive lineman Cody Woodiel have been selected to play in the 2013 Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game on Jan. 11 in Tucson, Ariz.

Southward, a Florence, Ala., native, became the seventh player in Troy history to top the 1,000-yard rushing mark in a season after he finished with 1,012 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2012. Southward finished his career with 33 rushing touchdowns, which was just one shy of the school record, and topped the 100-yard mark four times on the year, the most by a Troy player since 2004.

Southward finished his career as the only player in Troy history to lead the Trojans in rushing in four straight years. He accumulated 2,793 rushing yards over his Trojan career and was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team this past season.

Woodiel started all 12 games for the Trojans in 2012 and split his starts evenly between right and left guard. The Hernando, Miss., native played 800 snaps for a Troy offensive line that finished 25th in the NCAA allowing just 1.25 sacks per game despite attempting 42.4 passes per contest. Woodiel graded out at 85 percent on the season, including 90-plus marks against Mississippi State, North Texas, Tennessee and Navy.

The CDS College All-Star Game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.com from Kino Stadium. Last year's inaugural game featured six NFL draft picks and 61 other players who received invitations to NFL training camps.

Southward and Woodiel are the third and fourth Trojans selected to postseason all-star games this year. Linebacker Kanorris Davis and offensive lineman Kyle Wilborn were invited to play in the Raycom College Football All-Star Classic in Montgomery on Jan. 19.
