Mr. Charles Marsh of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Flowers Hospital. He was 55.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, in the Hartford Hwy Church of Christ with Evangelists: George Battey, Kevin Presley and Ronny Wade officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Church of Christ Cemetery in Samson with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Marsh was born on December 29, 1956 in Panama City, FL to Mattie Reynolds Marsh and the late Manuel Marsh. He was a leader of Hartford Hwy Church of Christ. He was a loving and devoted father and husband; a faithful servant of Christ and a pillar in the church. A hard worker, he exemplified the scripture: "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might" Gardening, riding his motorcycle and Alabama football were among his favorite pastimes. In the words of a friend, "His weary spirit rests and the wicked have ceased from troubling him forevermore!"
In addition to his father, one sister, Betty Johnson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years: Donna Marsh of Wicksburg; three sons: Daniel Marsh and his wife Samantha of Ozark, Dwayne Marsh of Ft Worth, TX and Craig Marsh of Wicksburg; his mother, Mattie Marsh of Ganer; two brothers: Travis Marsh of Geneva and Jimmy Marsh of Hartford; and other extended family and friends.
