Three women who led Dothan police on a high speed chase have been charged with the robbery of a beauty supply store. Tankia Watkins, 20, Tinicka McWilliams, 30, and Getoria Brooks, 16, were taken into custody Wednesday after wrecking their car as officers pursued them. All three women are from Montgomery.
The police department's public information officer said the trio was involved in the robbery of Ulta Beauty Supply located on Montgomery Highway near Wal-Mart and the Pavilion. Sgt. Rachel David said one of the women pulled a gun on store employees who confronted the thieves. She said they threatened to shoot.
A short time later, an officer spotted the car believed used in the heist and attempted to stop it. The driver refused to pull over and a chase which reportedly reached speeds near 100 miles per hour ensued. The pursuit ended when the car wrecked along U.S. 84 about two miles east of Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
David said the merchandise taken from the store was recovered. All three women are charged with robbery.
