Don Hartzog

Mr. Don Hartzog of Wicksburg passed away Sunday,
December 9, 2012 at Flowers Hospital. He
was 65.
Funeral
services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, in Sorrells
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Deese and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwater Free Will
Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, any
contributions be made to a family member for burial expenses.
The family
will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until
service time.
Mr. Hartzog
was born on July 11, 1947 in Houston County, AL to Vernell Peters Hartzog and
the late Harold Hartzog. He was a member
of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Headland. He had served as Fire Chief as well as a
paramedic with the Wicksburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. He retired from Perdue
Poultry.
Survivors
include his wife: Miriam Hartzog of
Wicksburg, his mother: Vernell Hartzog;
one daughter: Donna Crawley (Ben) of
Troy; two sons: David Hartzog (Erica),
Brandon Baxley (Lisa) all of Dothan; one brother: Jerry Hartzog (Christine) of Wicksburg; one
sister: Ann Cobb (Bill) of Wicksburg;
six grandchildren: Andrew, Paige, Halie,
Gracelynn, Tyler and Kade; several nieces and
nephews.
