Huey Wallace Floyd

Mr. Huey Wallace Floyd of Dothan passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was 87.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends T.P. Martin and Marcus Ramer officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Floyd was a member of the Midland City Community Church. He loved Bluegrass music and played in several bands in the Dothan area. He loved his granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Mr. Floyd retired from Ft. Rucker as an aircraft mechanic with over 35 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, G.W. (General Washington) Floyd and Laura Kyser Floyd, and one brother, James Floyd.

Survivors include his wife, Mirtis Floyd of Dothan; daughter, Peggy Chalker (Dudley) of Dothan; granddaughter, Paula Givens (Danny), great-grandchildren, Jerel Givens, Brianna Givens, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Cook and staff at First Med for their care of Mr. Floyd.
