Power Knocked Out To Northwest Dothan

By: Ken Curtis
Updated: December 3, 2012

A section of northwest Dothan was left without electrical service Monday night, presumably due to a traffic accident that knocked down power lines. Police officers responded to several busy intersections where traffic signals were not operating including Montgomery Highway between Westgate Parkway and Napier Field Road.

The accident occurred in the 2100 block of Denton Road, about two blocks north of Ross Clark Circle.  Police transmissions indicate a vehicle hit a pole and lines were sparking. Nobody was believed seriously hurt in the wreck.

The outage also activated many alarm systems and officers stayed busy responding to them.
