For the fourth consecutive year, a team from Alabama is headed to the BCS National Championship and, as usual, fans are paying more than a pretty penny to go. The website Stubhub.com predicts tickets to the University of Alabama's matchup with Notre Dame will fetch between $1400 and $300,000 each.

The price of a trip to is out of reach for many, even if they can find a flight or are willing to drive 1200 miles roundtrip to Miami. So, lots of fans will be staying home and rooting for the Tide.  "Some people just want to feel a part of (the excitement) anyway they can (so they're) getting merchandise and plan to get together with friends for the game," Shannon Collins of ScreenTech said.

The Dothan-based company manufactures team logo wear for many college teams.

Tickets for the January 8 contest are tough to get and will become even more difficult during the next few days.  It is also hard to find hotel room in Dade and Broward Counties in Florida.
