Baby Found Inside Closed Enterprise Daycare

By: Staff Reports
Updated: November 30, 2012

An infant was found alone and locked inside an Enterprise daycare as parents and police searched for the baby.

Police Sergeant Billy Haglund said the child's parents went to Step by Step Daycare Thursday afternoon to pick up their child.  When they arrived, the business was closed.

Officers responded and tried to make contact with those who work at the daycare but were unsuccessful.  However, when they heard a baby crying inside they forced a door open.  The infant was found in a crib unharmed and returned to the parents.

The matter is under investigation by Enterprise police and, presumably, state investigators have also been notified.  At this time, no arrests have been made in the case.
