Driver License Examiner I Carolyn Patrick of the Dothan post was recently named the Alabama Department of Public Safety's Examiner of the Year during the 17th annual awards luncheon Oct. 24 at the RSA Plaza Terrace.  One of four nominees, Patrick has been with DPS for 30 years (19 years as a Police Communications Officer with Highway Patrol and 11 years as a DL Examiner).  Patrick's husband, Lonnie David Patrick, was an Alabama State Trooper who retired as a lieutenant in 1995.

This year's winner has been praised for her work ethic, pleasant disposition and involvement on community activities.  She is often responsible for finding warrants and remaining calm under pressure, and she has a professional working relationship with other law enforcement agencies and court officials.
