TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that Denise Jackson, 44, of Grand Ridge, claimed a $1 million Powerball prize from the November 28 drawing. Ms. Jackson's winning ticket was purchased from McCoy's Food Mart, located at 2823 Jefferson Street in Marianna. The retailer received a $1,000 bonus commission for selling the $1 million POWERBALL ticket.

Last night's historic $587.5 million POWERBALL jackpot drawing created six new Florida millionaires and a total of 765,798 other lower-tier winners statewide. Ms. Jackson is the first Florida player to claim a prize of $1 million or more from this drawing. She correctly selected 5 of the 5 winning numbers drawn, but not the Powerball number. This series of POWERBALL jackpot rollovers generated approximately $58 million in transfers to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

The next POWERBALL drawing will be held Saturday, December 1, at 10:59 p.m. ET with a $40 million jackpot. National POWERBALL drawings are broadcast live, in high-definition, from the Florida Lottery's state of the art draw studio in Tallahassee on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Winning numbers are available on the Lottery website, at retailers statewide and by phone at (850) 921-PLAY.
