Dothan, Ala. (November 27, 2012) - Corvias Campus Living will be constructing student apartments on the campus of the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. Corvias approached college officials with a student housing solution which included construction and management of the rental units.

Corvias is a privately-owned, vertically-integrated real estate solutions company. Phase One of the project will consist of three 30,864-square-foot residential apartment buildings, 117 bedrooms and a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse along with many outdoor amenities.

Corvias has a local office in Dothan and has been responsible for Army housing at Fort Rucker beginning in April 2006. Corvias has contributed nearly $156 million on construction and development in the Wiregrass area with 96 percent going to local and small businesses.

The on-campus apartments will open in July 2013 for the incoming class of 150 students. Students will be able to choose from one and two-bedroom floor plans, each with a private bathroom and fully-equipped kitchen. The energy efficient units will feature modern and convenient amenities, including wireless internet and private study areas.

"The development and management of student housing will add value to our campus life," said Ronald S. Owen, ACOM President. "Corvias approached ACOM about building and managing an on-campus housing community offered for our medical students' unique needs."

Students living on-campus will enjoy access to a new clubhouse designed with a state-of-the-art fitness and cardio facility, as well as an open communal kitchen. In addition, there will be private, collaborative spaces available for students to study or socialize. Students will also benefit from the outside common areas where featured amenities include a swimming pool, basketball court, communal garden, and playground.

"We are enthused and honored to have been selected for our first student housing partnership by ACOM's leadership," said Kurt Ehlers, Managing Director of Corvias Campus Living. "By doing what we do best - delivering the highest quality solutions to unique housing challenges - the college will be able to focus on its mission of offering the highest quality academic programs for its students for decades to come."
