Jesse Birchfield

Mr. Jesse Birchfield of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 in the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  He was 73.

            Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from Sorrells Funeral Home chapel in Enterprise with Reverend Matt Smith and Reverend Sonny Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 am and continuing until service time.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the New Brockton High School FFA Chapter.

Mr. Birchfield was born on February 3, 1939 in Chambers County, AL to the late James Harris and Hazel Gunn Birchfield.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.   He served in the Alabama National Guard and also was an agriculture teacher as well as in agribusiness.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Enterprise.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant twin, James William Birchfield.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carole D. Birchfield, Enterprise, AL; three children: Jessica Quisenberry (Brian), Lexington,VA, Capt. Jason Birchfield (Candis), Dadeville, AL, Julie Smith (Rev. Matt), Enterprise, AL; one sister: Helen Bugg (Robert), Wadley, AL; five grandchildren; Morgan & Catherine Quisenberry, Mary Alice Birchfield, Spencer and Skyler Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
