Actor Larry Hagman Dead At 81

Actor Larry Hagman died late Friday after a battle with cancer. Hagman, best known for his role as 'J.R. Ewing' in the long-running drama 'Dallas', was reportedly surrounded by family and co-stars when he passed away in a Dallas Hospital.

According to DFW media, the Texas native spent the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends in Dallas. Hagman was in the metroplex to work on a second season episode of the new "Dallas" being aired on TNT.

The original 'Dallas' was the most watched TV show in the world drawing 300 million viewers in 57 countries.

Hagman was also known as Major Anthony Nelson on "I Dream Of Jeannie" and as the son of Broadway legend Mary Martin.

Hagman was married for nearly 60 years to the former Maj Axelsson. He had just turned 81 in September.
