Dothan, AL - (November 19, 2012) - During the summer of 2012, Del Taco signed a twenty unit development agreement with Larry
Blumberg and Associates ("LBA") to take the Del Taco brand to new markets in Alabama and Northern Florida.
LBA
has quickly moved forward, breaking ground today on its first Del Taco
restaurant in the company's home
city of Dothan, Alabama. The very popular Mexican-American style quick
serve restaurant will be located at 4700 West Main Street, expected to
open April 2013.
Developed
and operated by LBA, and built by LBA Construction under the leadership
of Senior Vice President
for Commercial Development Bill Davis, this Del Taco restaurant will be
sized at 2,720 square feet, featuring seventy-two seats and a
drive-thru, will be open twenty four hours, seven days a week and have
approximately twenty employees.
Davis
says: "Dothan was the logical choice for our first store, our home
town, a friendly business climate
and a big appetite for Mexican-American food. This is a winning
combination for LBA and Del Taco; we are really excited to bring the
taste of Del Taco to Alabama and Northern Florida."
Dothan's
Del Taco restaurant will serve three meals a day; all menu items will
use fresh ingredients including
cheddar cheese grated from forty pound blocks, handmade salsa, slow
cooked lard free beans, and marinated chicken grilled in the restaurant.
The menu will feature popular Mexican items such as tacos, burritos, quesadilla's and nachos; as well as
American favorites cooked-to-order burgers, crinkle cut fries, and handmade shakes.
In
addition to this first location in Dothan, LBA is planning at least a
dozen Del Taco restaurants in Alabama
(Huntsville, Montgomery, Birmingham, and Tuscaloosa) as well as
locations in Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida. "The experienced
team at Larry Blumberg and Associates will drive Del Taco's success in
these new markets," says Paul Murphy, Del Taco's CEO.
"We are excited to have in LBA a franchise partner who deeply values
service and knows how to deliver top-quality customer value."
