James Eddie Mims

James Eddie Mims, a resident of the Oakey Grove community of Henry County, died Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2012, at his home. He was 62.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mr. Mims was born and reared in the Wills Crossroads community of Henry County, son of the late James Orlando Mims and Elma Smith Mims. He was a 1969 graduate of Abbeville High School and moved to the Oakey Grove community in 1991. Mr. Mims served his country in the Army National Guard in the Abbeville unit. He was a member of the Brown's Crossroads Masonic Lodge No. 529. Mr. Mims was retired as the owner and operator of Mims Welding. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Mims and a niece, Laurie Mims Dimon.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Judy Hendley and husband, Don, Abbeville; a brother, Jerry Mims and wife, Nancy, Abbeville; a niece, Wendy Hendley, three nephews, Robert Kirt Mims, Wayne Hendley, and Seth Mims (Allison); great nieces and great nephews, Allison O' Brien, Dillon Mims, Noah Mims, Luke Mims, and Evelyn Mims; many friends and cousins including a special cousin, Kathy McBrayer.
