The Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority presented over $12,000 to the library Wednesday.

The money will go towards the construction of two new libraries and committee members said the money is crucial to continuing the new library plan

"This is a very important part of a 7.5 million dollar project; the funds and activity around the city and county has been wonderful," explained library Chairman, Steve Roy.

The D.D.R.A  said the new library is only the beginning of what's to come for downtown Dothan and once this development is up it will make a statement for downtown.
