Dothan, Ala. -- Wallace Community College recently awarded the fall 2012 National Peanut Festival Scholarship to Carissa Renee Sanders. Sanders is a first semester student in the WCC Physical Therapist Assistant program.

"My family budget did not allow for the cost of college, so I had to apply for student loans," said Sanders. "This scholarship has relieved some of the financial burden of tuition."

Sanders is married with three daughters, including a six-year-old and three-year-old twins.

Recipients of the NPF scholarship must hold a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need. One scholarship of up to $750 is presented per semester to a qualifying student.

Applications are accepted via the College's website (www.wallace.edu) or by visiting the financial aid office.
