According to a report from 247sports.com, Jay Gouge, the President of Auburn University, told members of the board that they are 'preparing to possibly' end head coach Gene Chizik's tenure.

The report says Gouge contacted the board members about forming a committee to help with the process of removing Gene Chizik if that decision is made.

The website also says Athletic Director Jay Jacobs will be retained, and that Executive Associate Athletic Director Tim Jackson will be reassigned to another position.

Louisville Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the job if Gene Chizik is fired.
