Christine Elizabeth Hawks Lancaster

Christine Elizabeth Hawks Lancaster, 85, of Dothan passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Flack officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Mrs. Lancaster was born December 1, 1926 in Tennessee to the late Dr. and Mrs. Newton A. Hawks. She attended Memphis State University and East Tennessee State University majoring in Library Sciences but she always considered her children her greatest achievement. Mrs. Lancaster was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son William Lancaster, Jr., a daughter Janet L. Parris, and a brother Thomas W. Hawks.

Survivors include her husband William Lancaster; her sons, John W. (Billie) Lancaster and Paul N. Lancaster; her daughter Jean (Elton) Willis; grandchildren, Wendy L. (Steve) Sutherland, Bryan (Dana) Lancaster, Julie Brooks, Amy (Douglas) Terry, and Jenny (Aaron) Jones; great-grandchildren, Christopher Willis, Mia Ledford, Aidan Terry, Coner Terry, Rowan Terry, Jonathan Lancaster, Alayna Lancaster, Christopher Brooks, Caileigh Brooks, Connor Brooks, Abby Jones, and Zane Jones.
