Pedestrian Killed When Struck By Car Along Busy Highway

A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday night in the small community of Cowarts, about three miles east of Dothan on U.S. Highway 84.  The accident scene was along the roadway in front of Efurds Supermarket.

The Alabama State Troopers were summoned to the scene along with the deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

The name of the person killed has not been released.
