Erika Copeland was Arrested for First Degree Theft of Property

On October 29, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded to a report of theft involving two local businesses. Police say they first responded to West Main Jewelry and Loan to take a report for theft after a woman had entered the shop and stolen multiple pieces of jewelry. Police were then called by Park and Pawn when the same person arrived at their business attempting to sell the stolen items. Investigators responded to the scene where they recovered the stolen goods and used witness statements and surveillance video to positively identify the woman as the same person who committed the earlier theft. Based upon this confirmation, Erika Copeland was arrested bringing the case to a close.
Erika Copeland, black female, 44 years of age, of Meharis Circle was arrested and charged with First Degree Theft of Property with a $30,000 bond. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
