Vivian N. Skipper, 84, a resident of Marianna, FL, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Campbellton Graceville Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ivan Holbert officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (Marianna) with Byrd Funeral Home, 3409 W. Main St., Dothan, AL, (334) 793-3003 directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Friday.
Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Ave., Marianna, FL 32446.
Mrs. Skipper was born May 25, 1928 in Cypress, Florida and
lived the early years of her life there and in Midland City, AL. She then moved
to Forks of the Creek,
Florida where she resided the remainder of her life. She was employed as a
pharmacy technician with Sunland Training Center for over 25 years. Mrs. Skipper
enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She was a homemaker and was
of the Baptist faith.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ellis Skipper, two sisters, Elizabeth Mathis and Florence Dykes and a grandson, Michael McDaniel.
Survivors include five children, Patsy McDaniel (Norris) of Thomasville, GA, Kathy Pierce (Dwight) of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Chambliss (Eugene) of Dothan, Lisa Eason (Bill) of Detroit, MI and Lamar Skipper (Cindy) of Marianna, FL; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Velma Woodward of Lenora, TN.
