For the second year in a row, Marcus Lattimore has suffered a season ending injury.

In Saturday's game against Tennessee, Lattimore's knee was dislocated and suffered severe ligament damage that required surgery and more than a year's worth of rehabilitation.

Despite all of that, Lattimore promised to return to the field for the Gamecocks.

This news was delivered to over a thousand people, who gathered outside McKissick Museum to wish Lattimore a happy birthday and a speedy recovery.

Lattimore has received respect from all around the country from professional sports stars like LeBron James and Tim Tebow. Even the Gamecocks' biggest rival Clemson has shown the running back support.
