Troy Murder Suspect Arrested In California

Troy Police say the suspect in a Saturday slaying has been captured in California.

Detectives say 29-year old Melissa Shipman was murdered at the Troy Villa Apartments on Henderson St. on October 27th.

Police received a tip that the killer was supposed to arrive on a bus Monday night in Los Angeles headed for Oxnard.

Suroy Manquel Wheeler was picked up by police shortly after the bus he was riding on arrived in Oxnard.

Police say he will be extradited to Alabama to stand trial.
