By: Stephen Crews
Updated: October 29, 2012
Providence Christian School's first EagleFest will be Saturday, November 17, on the school's campus. EagleFest will begin with Dash for Cash - an 8K, 5K and one mile fun run. Same day registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Race start time at 8 a.m. At 9 a.m., EagleFest will open on the football field. Patrons can enjoy inflatables, concessions and a silent auction.

"Dash for Cash will be a race for all running levels," said Nicholas Ireland, Providence's cross country coach. "Our races will be chip timed, ensuring the most accurate finishing time. Winners will receive cash prizes. We feel that these components, along with two course options, set our race apart."

Dash for Cash entry fees are: 8K - $35 early registration, $40 day of race; 5K - $30 early registration, $35 day of race; Fun Run - $15 registration. Patrons can pre-register at www.onestoprace.com.

"EagleFest will be a crowd pleaser," said Angela Wells, EagleFest committee member. "There will be inflatables, games, concessions and a silent auction featuring themed baskets and items from local retailers."

Entrance into EagleFest cost $15. Arm bands can be purchased at the school office or at the event.

"Our goal was to create an event for the whole family," said Wells. "EagleFest is a great opportunity to spend a fun-filled day outside enjoying fellowship, family and friends."

Proceeds will go toward a playground project and technology.

Providence Christian School is located at 4847 Murphy Mill Road in Dothan.
