Peanut Queens Countdown To National Festival

Though the two were just recently crowned, they've already gotten their big smiles and welcoming waves down to an art. Both were full of glitz and glam to beat out dozens of girls for the coveted title, but it's much deeper than that.
To each girl the peanut festival is about memories and they are full of knowledge about the crop that thrives all of these festivities.
"It's something very
special to our community; it's what we're known for, "said Miss National Peanut
Festival, Whitney DeVane with a smile.
"You've got to try the boiled
peanuts and corndogs!" -Emily Turner said with excitement.
Tickets for the National Peanut Festival are on sale now at the office and ticket sales will begin at the fair ground on Monday.
