Christine Elizabeth Weed

Christine Elizabeth Weed, of Midland City passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. George Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at Mrs. Weed's home, 1761 Barrington Rd., Midland City, AL.

Mrs. Weed was born May 30, 1931 in Columbus, GA and resided there the early part of her life. She lived in the Midland City area most of her life and was employed with Dothan Manufacturing for several years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Dothan Church of God for over 45 years where she also served as church secretary, and she was past president of the Safe Club. Mrs. Weed was preceded in death by her husband James A. Weed and her son James Rodney Weed.

Survivors include her children, Tim (Cathy) Weed of Dothan, AL, Theresa (Ricky) Carroll of Ashford, AL and Beverly (David) Pipkins of Dothan, AL; seven grandchildren, Jared Weed, Bobby Farthing Jr., Kristy Davis, Bethany Retherford, Matthew Pipkins, Chris Weed and Jennifer Parker; two brothers, William H. Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI, and Billy G. Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI; several nieces and nephews also survive.
