Talcum Helms, Jr., a resident of Highway 131, Louisville, died Thursday morning, October 18, 2012, at his residence. He was 76.
There are no services planned at this time. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Helms, son of the late A Talcum Helms, Sr. and Willie Mae Pippins Helms, was a native of Barbour County having formerly lived in Dallas, Texas, and Pensacola, Florida, before moving to Louisville in 1996. In earlier years, he was co-owner and operator of a commercial heating and air-conditioning business. Mr. Helms was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of the Pine Level Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Helms.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Patricia Hummon Helms, Cantonment, FL; two sons, Jonathan Helms, Cantonment, FL, and Andrews Helms, Lufkin, TX; two sisters, Mary Jane Bryan and husband, Lamar, Bogalusa, LA; Marie Pennington, Boca Raton, FL; a granddaughter, Bailey Helms; and several cousins, including Max Helms, Louisville.
