Dr. Quan Yang

Dr. Quan Yang, 49, of Dothan, died, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 4 pm Friday, October, 19, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Edward Wright officiating and Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorial donations can be made to the Troy University Dothan Campus General Foundation Account, 501 University Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.
Dr. Yang was born November 21, 1962 in the Guangxi Province, city of Nanning, China. She attained a Masters' degree at Southeast Missouri State University and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Memphis before coming to Dothan to work for Troy University. Dr. Yang was a tenured Associate Professor in the College of Education where she taught Educational Technology. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan. Quan was preceded in death by her father, ZhaiJian Yang.
Survivors include her husband, Guiming Zhong, Dothan; son, Yang Zhong, Auburn; mother, Hong Lei, Nanning, China; sister, Jie Yang (KaiYun Tang), Hong Kong; nephew, Cong Tang, Dothan; sister-in-law, Liying Zhong (ZhouKun Zhao), Guilin, China; and life-long friends Kang Bai and Ming Jian Chen, Dothan. Quan was a loving wife, mother, friend, and teacher.
