Foster Fest's Popularity Results in Expanded Event

10/15/2012 Dothan, AL

The Downtown Group (DTG), a medium to focus on commerce, culture and community in Downtown Dothan is proud to present the second Foster Fest of 2012, this Friday, October 19.

"The popularity of the September 21 event has required us to expand up to the 200 block of North Foster Street.  We are so excited the Dothan community came out in droves and really embraced the first Foster Fest and the second will be bigger and better than the first," stated Jill Reading, Executive Director of The Downtown Group.  Crowds of families and friends checked out the amazing classic cars and the wares of Foster Street merchants and local arts and craft vendors.  Many patrons were surprised to see how downtown has transformed in the last five years and enjoyed dining at Bella's and The District as well as River Nile.

Two new retailers, located in The Nest on Foster, have opened just in time for October's Foster Fest - Mae and Mabel, a retro and vintage fabric shop, along with Gourmet, an upscale to-go concept store with fresh, handmade dinners, sandwiches and gourmet baskets.  The Nest is the newly opened small business incubator and includes trendy Push Crank Press and Dennis Lee Furniture.  All Foster Street merchants will have expanded store hours.  Colby's and Amici's at Bella's will feature a full bar and food specials.

Foster Fest is also pleased to announce live music by Nashville bluegrass recording artist, Donna Ulisse and the Poor Mountain Boys, beginning at 6:00pm with a 45-minute set, a meet-and-greet and CD signing from 6:45 - 7:30pm and the final set from 7:45 - 8:30pm.

The DTG, located in Dothan, AL, is the marketing arm for Downtown Dothan, focusing on building community awareness and participation downtown.
