Dothan will have two new libraries by the beginning of 2014.

City and county officials gathered Wednesday to celebrate the official ground breaking at both library locations.

One library will be built downtown and the other at Westgate Park.

The project cost about $7 million.

According to library staff, these two new buildings are a dream come true after several years of work in the community.

"This will be a state-of-the-art library downtown with a very family friendly one at Westgate Park," said Bettye Forbus, the director of the Houston-Love Memorial Library. "All of the residents of Houston county will be the direct beneficiaries."
